A Wireless Credit Card Reader May Be Valuable For Proprietors

by Eddie Lamb, under shopping

Whether you are a small or large business owner and if you are not using a wireless credit card reader, you might want to consider using this type of system for your company. Having something like this set up could increase your sales, save you time and could even cut down on operating costs.

What exactly is a wireless credit card reader? It is a small wireless machine that is very light and can even fit inside your pocket. They enable you to use credit and debit cards in places that you might not ordinarily be able to accept them. If you are traveling and happen to run across someone that might be interested in a product you might be selling or a service you may be offering, you would be able to make that sale instead of missing out on it.

You can save money by using a card reader as well and it helps you to avoid fraudulent transactions or stolen credit/debit cards. Also, you never have to worry about having to let your transactions rely upon a telephone connection. Should you be somewhere where you do not have a connection, that is OK, you can still process a transaction because these card readers have storage. You can store the sale on your reader until you are in an area where you can connect. Then you can go ahead and process any sales that you might have had during the lack of connection.

Being able to actually swipe a person’s credit or debit card cuts down on fraud and the possibility of falling victim to stolen cards. This can be a big money saver.

There are a variety of machines that are available for your transactions. The first thing that you can use for such sales is your laptop. Your laptop can actually be turned into a wireless credit card reader. By buying the right software and a swiper you can actually turn your laptop into a relatively inexpensive card reader. Your laptop will have to have WiFi or a wireless broadband connection.

Spectra Creon is one of the lesser expensive card readers but still is filled with nice features that are very useful for the business owner. It has a very nice sized display, a printer to print out receipts for the customer, a feature that will store the transactions you have made when you may not have had a connection. Later you can bring up the transactions and process them. It even allows you to print out transaction reports.

The Verifone Nurit 8020 is a very nice wireless credit card reader that has all of what the Spectra offers plus it has a signing display and the receipt with the signature can be printed out, has the ability to program hot keys, has a built in smart card feature, a PIN pad, and rechargeable batteries.

If you own a Motorola cell phone or a Blackberry you will be happy to know that by getting a piece of software and an individual Bluetooth swiper, you can instantly turn your Blackberry or cell phone into a viable credit card terminal. The only thing lacking would be a printer. Your phone however; must have Bluetooth on it or it will not work. This system is called the epnMobile.

Way Systems MTT is a wireless terminal that has all the same features as some of the others mentioned but has a built in swiping feature that makes this little terminal a lot more compact than some of the others.

When you are trying to decide which one would be best for you, you can always try signing up for any of their 30-day free trials before you make a final decision.

Merchants use mobile or portable credit card machines during point-of-sale (POS) purchases. On the other hand, a manual credit card machine is very useful for when you don’t have Internet service, or electricity. To find out more, why not visit our website now.
